Shipping Methods & Destinations

Alt Tube Shop currently ships Xpresspost Post Bubble Pack for smaller, Lighter items for Western Canada and Expedited for Larger products because it is by far the most efficient and practical shipping method for the least cost. Although there are other shipping alternatives, such as courier companies, exist, we’ve found Canada Post Expedited to be the most efficient. Our website automatically calculates shipping charges using Canada Post software, which determines costs based on volumetric weight. Volumetric weight derives from the dimensions of the shipping box, not the item’s actual weight. Delivery times vary based on destination:

Western Canada:

Delivery Estimates and Exceptions

The indicated delivery date approximates Canada Post’s estimation based on location, assuming same-day shipping and pickup. We typically process orders within 2 business days, excluding national holidays. However, numerous factors can influence delivery dates. We ship most orders ship within 1-2 business days, depending on various factors. Once shipped, parcels are solely under Canada Post’s jurisdiction, and we cannot expedite delivery. Various factors, including weather and transportation issues, may alter delivery dates by hours, days, or even weeks. Although mistakes can be made, we do not offer products that we do not have in our possession to ship. If by chance a product is ordered and it is unavailable, the customer will be notified and an immediate refund will be issued. See Returns | Exchanges for details.

ID Verification and Age Requirements

Additionally, all shipments require ID verification at the local post office, as some products may pose safety risks and legal age requirements apply for purchase. Failure to meet these age requirements will result in the forfeiture of funds without refunds.

Shipping Charges

Shipping costs are calculated using Canada Post software based on volumetric weight rather than the item’s weight. Charges encompass actual shipping costs, a fuel surcharge, insurance, signature requirement, and taxes. Insurance is crucial, as it covers lost packages during transit. However, refunds are subject to Canada Post’s investigation.
Address errors should be reported immediately, as any additional shipping charges due to errors are the customer’s responsibility. We do not refund shipping charges, and customers are accountable for return shipping and insurance. Lost parcels are insured for full replacement value. Contact Us if a parcel hasn’t arrived within 10 days. Misdelivered or missing parcels prompt an investigation with Canada Post. Damaged parcels require immediate notification to the Post Office or Driver and subsequent steps for claim processing. If we are at fault for a mistaken address, we will re-ship your product and or provide an immediate refund.

Undelivered | Missing Parcels

Often Canada Post will show a parcel as being delivered before the delivery is made. Parcels can be delivered up until 21:00 hrs. (9:00 PM) the day it shows as delivered. “Delivered” could also mean it was delivered to a Post office near you. If a parcel shows as delivered after 20:00 hrs. and you don’t have it, DON’T PANIC. We insure your parcels for full value, so in the event itā€™s lost, you are covered. Take the following steps:

  • Call your local Post office. If it has been dropped off there by the Canada Post delivery person, then the post office will have it and advise you on how to pick it up. You will need to show ID and provide a signature to pick it up.
  • If it’s not there, then please contact us the next business day. We will call Canada Post and start an investigation. Canada Post’s investigation time can take up to 2 weeks, but often itā€™s less than that. There are two things that can happen. Often it can show up the next business day or it is, in fact, lost. If itā€™s declared lost, we will get a new package out to you within a few days.

Damaged Parcels

If Canada Post arrives at your door and the parcel is damaged:

  • Either notify the driver or your local Post Office.
  • Take pictures or even a video of the parcel unopened. If possible, open the package in front of a Canada Post representative and check the contents.
  • If anything is missing, tell the driver and call us immediately.
  • Email us pictures or even video of the parcel, its damage, and even the opening of it.

We will make a claim with Canada Post ASAP. Canada Post Investigations can take up to 3 weeks, and once cleared by them, we will send you a replacement item. We cannot send a replacement before it’s declared lost because parcels sometimes show before the lost decision is made by them.
